Julia Stomal is an independent illustrator and graphic designer based between Montreal, Canada and Lima, Peru. She has studied visual and media arts in Montreal, where she specialized in printmaking. She started her illustration work upon moving to Lima, where she was influenced by Peru’s art and bold and vibrant visual culture, as well as its strong feminist movement. Her work is heavily inspired by the natural word and her love for music and concerts. Through her eye-catching and colourful portraits, she celebrates diversity and empowerment, and pays homage to the artists and women she admires.
